The United Way Perth-Huron is preparing to celebrate 211 Day on Wednesday, February 11th.
It’s the day set aside to highlight the free, confidential service available to everyone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in more than 150 languages.
It connects people with the support they need when they don’t know where to turn.
Perth Huron United Way’s Director of Resource Development Susan Faber says that 211 is an import service providing people with connection and support and adds that unfortunately not everyone knows about the hotline so the day is an opportunity to let people know there is a resource available whether they are struggling with mental health, facing food insecurity or looking for immediate financial assistance.
Locally the United Way Perth-Huron funds 211 and the helpline is the first step in accessing the organization’s Urgent Needs Fund.
