The United Way Perth-Huron says now that it’s cold outside and there are people in the community facing frigid temperatures with no safe, warm place of their own it’s a perfect time to remind that the Coldest Night of the Year Fundraiser is coming up.
The event which is happening on Saturday, February 26th aims at raising $75,000 by getting residents to walk in their neighbourhood and raise money to support those in our community with housing insecurity.
There is a virtual option that allows any participant to walk on their own time, any distance the week prior to the official walk.
Check-in on the day begins at 3:45 at Listowel Chrysler with it then beginning at 4pm.
The Listowel Agricultural Society is donating bowls of chili for the walkers at the completion of the walk.
Anyone that raises $150 ($75 for youth under 18) receive a Coldest Night touque.
