After a year and a half of planning, United Way Perth Huron has announced its United Housing initiative.
What started as a vision to address a lack of housing across Perth-Huron officials have set the goal to help ease the housing crisis which will rely on community support as they aim to raise the $543,000 necessary to continue the work.
Executive Director Ryan Erb in a release says they saw an opportunity to do something as they’re isn’t a non profit organization in the area dedicated to developing, building and managing mixed use rental housing.
United Housing focus is a non profit developer and operator of affordable rental supply.
United Housing also move to help current landlords by fundraising, renovating and operating units so buildings don’t sit unused.
