Two Listowel District Secondary School Students have placed 1st in the Western region in a recent skills competition.

Grade 11 student Samuel Miedema and Grade 9 student Isaak Wiebe were able to place 1st in the Cardboard Hovercraft Race.

Both students of the CASE program took on the challenge to build and design a cardboard hovercraft to complete three 10 metre laps on a flat indoor surface using only paper, plastic, wood products and DC motor.

Alongside the hands on side of the project, students were required to complete a safety checklist, a skilled trades quiz, design plan and materials list to match the design.
