A Brampton truck driver was sentenced to 4 and a half years in prison on Tuesday in connection to the 2019 collision that killed three members of a London family and left a 2 year old in the vehicle with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash happened in June of 2019 at Fordwich Line and Perth Road 178 north of Listowel. Killed was a 60 year old father, his 58 year old wife and their 28 year old daughter.

The investigation by police determined the driver of the truck went through a stop sign at the intersection and collided with the family’s vehicle.

The truck driver was originally charged with 3 counts of death by criminal negligence.

He pleaded guilty to lesser charges of dangerous operation causing death and one county of dangerous operation causing bodily harm.

Along with the prison sentence the truck driver also had his license suspended for 5 years.
