On February 20th at approximately 10:40pm a Wellington OPP officer stopped the driver of a while pick-up truck on Tower Street South in Fergus.
While speaking with the driver, officers formed the opinion that the driver was under the influence by alcohol.
A roadside screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and transported to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
A 23 year old male of Guelph-Eramosa Township has been charged with impaired operation 80 plus mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood contrary to the criminal code.
The accused is scheduled to appear in a Guelph Court on March 9th to answer to the charge.
A 90 day administrative driver’s license suspension and 7 day vehicle impoundment were initiated.
