The Town of Wasaga Beach has said they are disabling comments on social media posts in an effort to prevent hate and misinformation.
While the Town says they will still share community info and events they just are stopping commenting on posts.
This comes as officials have said certain individuals in the community have used their social media to bully, spread hate and misinformation.
Mayor Nina Bifolchi says the town doesn’t wish to give such people a platform to spread hate and lies.
