North Perth Mayor Todd Kasenberg is up next to delegate the Strong Mayor Powers given to him by the province.
This designation allows the Mayor additional powers with the intention to advance provincial priorities such as building more homes, transit and other infrastructure in the province however, most local Mayor’s across Midwestern Ontario have more or less rejected the powers given to them.
Todd Kasenberg has chosen to delegate these powers back to council and CAO through official Mayoral Decisions.
In a release, Mayor Kasenberg says he remains committed to thoughtful, informed decision making that includes public and council input and continues to serve the residents of North Perth.
