With cases of Covid-19 rising across Ontario and across the local communities of Huron-Perth, Middlesex-London and the Southwestern Health Region the 3 Health Units serving those areas have issued recommendations that are effective immediately.
They say that everyone should limit indoor social gatherings in private homes to no more than 10 people. All attendees they say 12 years and older should be vaccinated.
Anyone unvaccinated and over the age of 12 should avoid non-essential indoor contact with anyone not part of their household.
And where possible individuals should work remotely.
The reasoning was given as both the Delta variant, which has cases rising in most Health Units and also the risk of the Omicron variant.
December, they say, is the peak social gathering time in the region. They adds that it is time to reduce opportunities for transmission before the health care system is overwhelmed.
