For the first time in two years, Listowel will be back with an in person Terry Fox Run in September.
While all the details are still being hashed out, a new route is being proposed pending council approval.
The decision for a new route is a result of the growing community and the old route taking in busy intersections posing some safety risks says Angela Stratton, Chair for the Listowel Terry Fox Run.
“Our old route had us crossing some major streets and with new development over the last couples years its become a little bit of a danger for safety.” said Stratton.
Stratton, adds overall, it’ll be great to get out in person once again.
“It’s really exciting to get back out and actually engage with the community as part of the Terry Fox Foundation. We’ve done the virtual run for the last 2 years but obviously we haven’t been able to have the same community engagement. I’m just really excited to see everyone out again.”
Fundraising is currently underway with teams open to register taking place September 18th.
The Local Box, featuring a variety of locally made items including bath and beauty, home décor and more is available for order.
