Taste Real Local Food Map Launches in Wellington County

Wellington County is celebrating Local Food Week with the launch of the next edition of the Taste Real Local Food Map.

The map is part of the county’s continued efforts to promote agriculture and strengthen the local food economy.

The map which was first used in 2005 highlights spots to find fresh, local products including meats, seasonal fruits and vegetables, dairy, honey and more.

Christina Mann, Manager of Economic Development for Wellington County says this years maps highlights some specific spots for must taste features.

“Those are products that are a bit more unique, its not something you’d often think of when you think local food but there are some great products available in Wellington County. There are listed to peak some interest into exploring further and looking at the map a little deeper” said Mann.

Copies of the Local Food Map can be picked up at Wellington County and Guelph Libraries, tourism outlets and various other participating locations.
