A $20 million investment from the province has pushed for the opening of a state of the art swine research centre in Elora.
The centre opened Thursday to enhance research, innovation and development of new technology to benefit Ontario’s pork producers and consumers.
The facility is a collaborative investment from the Ontario government, the Agricultural Research Institute of Ontario and Ontario Pork Industry.
University of Guelph President Dr. Charlotte Yates says the research centre will allow university experts to advance research and knowledge and bring new livestock innovations to the farm and train the next generation of talent.
