On April 13th at around 8am, Wellington County OPP was called to a report of a suspicious vehicle at the entrance of the Belwood Lake Conservation Area.
When members of the GRCA approached, the driver exited the vehicle and fled in a wooded area. It was later found out the vehicle was stolen.
OPP searched the area alongside the Emergency Response Team, Aviation Unit and Canine.
At around 11:30pm police responded to reports of a theft which occurred on Fourth Line with items being taken off a clothesline.
Police located the suspect and found it was the same from the stolen vehicle in the morning.
As a result a 31 year old from Toronto was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000, Trespassing at Night, Theft Under $500 and Failing to Comply with a Probation Order.
The accused was held for bail.
