Suspect arrested following nighttime B&E near Arthur

The victim and the suspect were previously in a relationship together

On March 6th at approximately 2:30 am members of the Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence on Wellington Road 109 west of Arthur.

It was reported that the suspect entered a residence through an unlocked door. The suspect fled the scene after confronting the female victim in a bedroom.

The suspect and the victim were previously in a relationship together.

The suspect was also bound by a release order with a condition not to have contact with the victim.

As a result of the investigation a 29 year old Shelburne resident has been charged with break and enter, criminal harassment and failure to comply with undertaking contrary to the criminal code.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear at a later date a the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph to answer to the charges.
