Students from Centre Wellington and Guelph-Eramosa were able to experience agriculture first hand this week on the 2nd annual Agriculture Education Day for grade 5 students.
Hosted by the Fergus Agricultural Society, nearly 400 students were in attendance at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex for an interactive learning experience focused on food, farming and agricultural innovation.
Rebecca Hanna, event organizer and director with the agricultural society says it’s exciting to see students learning where their food comes from while also discovering the many careers, technologies and innovations that are part of modern agriculture.
Organizers say community support and participation continues to grow each year.
