A new subdivision in North Perth is going to need some new street names and that’s just what the hope is for council to tackle tonight.
The new subdivision described as Lot 2 Concession 23 is now into the phase to get five street approved for names which does require the approval of council.
The naming of new streets requires approval with at least a minimum of one street name and no less than 50 per cent of all streets in a proposed development being chosen from the Historic Street Name Inventory.
Proposed names include McNally Drive, Makem Street East, Walter Street East.
Featherstone Street East and Barton Avenue North are also proposed, being ones off the Historic Street Name Inventory.
While not considered on the Historic Street Name Inventory, Walter Street East being proposed is intended to honour firefighter Raymond Walter who died on March 17th, 2011 battling a blaze in Listowel.
