Stratford to Reapply for Rapid Housing Initiative Funding

2nd round of funding now available

 

Stratford will be reapplying for the Rapid Housing Initiative funding for an alternative housing pilot.

This support would be used for an apartment building at 398 Erie Street to provide 24/7 supportive housing to residents who suffer from homelessness as well as combating mental health and addiction.

Stratford is hoping to secure $3.5 million as the 2nd round of funding has opened up.

The next round of funding, certain criteria was removed such as submitted projects no longer need to be built in a modular style.

The proposal for funding also includes the new building designed would be built to net-zero or passive housing standards to be more energy efficient.
