In response to the homophobic graffiti seen spray painted at Sirkel Foods in Stratford, the Stratford Pride Community Centre has called a general meeting Wednesday evening to discuss how to properly respond to such incidents and ensure they do not continue going forward.

The meeting, at 7pm held at the Stratford Pride Community Centre is open for all to attend to learn more and ask questions.

Among those attending will include Police Chief Greg Skinner.

Stratford Pride Community Centre President and Chair Bruce Duncan Skeaff says elected officials have been invited but has seen a low response as of Wednesday morning and hopes to see more to confirm their attendance.

“Just after the municipal election we have 10 councilors and 1 newly elected Mayor. Not one of them has replied and responded saying they would attend tonight. Our question this morning is where are our elected officials?” said Skeaff.

Skeaff adds the current Mayor, Dan Mathieson is out of town but has issued a strong statement of support.
