Stratford Police are warning residents of a new type of scam hitting locals known as the Crown Attorney.
Police say they’ve received reports of residents getting a call saying they are an amazon employee, telling the victim a crime has been committed and transfer them to speak to a crown attorney.
The victim is then told investigation is ongoing with personal information and money required to be sent.
Stratford Police say these calls come from what appear to be local numbers and use the identity of local Crown Attorneys.
Police add no government agency makes calls such as these and you should do your research before giving out any personal details.
