The Stratford Police Services Board is considering the creation of a Stratford Police Ceremonial Unit which would represent the police at events.
If the proposal is approved, the creation of a trained marching unit of four officers, with long guns and flags would become the ceremonial unit to act with high visibility and professionalism to represent the Stratford police at special events.
While all costs still need to be worked out, early estimates are aimed at around $1000 per officer.
A more detailed report will be brought to board members at the next meeting on March 17th.
