Stratford Police Charging Unlicensed Taxi Drives in the City

Stratford Police have been busy lately charging unlicensed ride share operators who are running outside of Stratford’s taxi bylaw.

Police say the bylaw requires anyone providing a vehicle for hire service in the city must have a valid taxi license with insurance and those who don’t have either could be subject to fines under the taxi bylaw.

Licensed taxis can be found with a valid taxi number plate on the exterior of the vehicle and a licensed driver can be identified with an official photo taxi driver license displayed inside the vehicle.
