Stratford Police have arrested a 33-year-old North Perth resident after being called to an incident on Maple Avenue in Stratford.
Police arrived on Monday, February 13th shortly after noon on report of a male who had been threatened with both a firearm and hammer.
An investigation revealed the threats were made as a result of a road rage incident that began elsewhere in the City. After threatening the victim, the accused, later identified as a 33-year-old male resident of North Perth, left the area in a red Chevrolet Cruze.
A license plate for the vehicle was provided by a witness to the incident and the vehicle was located parked at a residence on Home Street.
Shortly after 1pm police observed the accused leaving the residence. Officers initiated a high-risk takedown, and an arrest was made without incident.
The vehicle was searched subsequent to the arrest resulting in discovery, and seizure of an imitation firearm, a hammer, small sword and a length of metal pipe.
The accused was taken to Stratford Police Headquarters where he was charged with pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats.
The accused was later release from custody on an Undertaking with a court date of March 27th.
