There were new health restrictions introduced by the Province yesterday in efforts to battle the rising tide of cases of Covid-19 across the Province. One of the changes was increasing the power for police where officers can legally stop individuals on the street and in vehicles and question their leaving of their homes.

There have been multiple Police agencies that have come out to clarify that they will not be actively enforcing this element of the new restrictions.

Stratford Police said via twitter they would focus on education first with enforcement as a last resort. They continue to say that they will not be conducting random stops on vehicles and pedestrians. They expect to release more information on Monday.
