Stratford is looking to pay more homage to the history of the city with its Blue Plaque program.

The Heritage Stratford Advisory Committee is looking for more properties in the city with any ties to a significant historical figure or event as part of the program.

Certain requirements include the person should be of significant public standing and has made an impact and seen as a distinguished figure in their profession.

The 1st Blue Plaque was put in 2014 at 46 Ontario Street, recognizing inventor Thomas Edison who had resided in the residence.

For a building for a plaque, it must have been tied in with a historical event of special importance.

More information is available from the Stratford website.
