Stratford council has approved the Downtown Stratford BIA’s Public Art Plan.

BIA General Manager Jamie Pritchard shared with council the importance of having downtown art, saying public art is a great boost for downtown and good for the city.

With the public art plan, local artists and organizations can utilize said plan for guidelines for both proposed artwork and the public art process as part of the city’s cultural identity and downtown aesthetics.

Areas of focus around the art plan include education, working with the city’s heritage committee, beautifying underused public spaces and funding and accessing support for public artwork.
