Stratford Beer Store Fire Under Investigation

 

Stratford Firefighters kept busy Monday morning who battled a blaze at the Beer Store on Huron Street in the city.

There was extensive damage at the store near the rear and roof of building as well as the storage and loading dock area.

16 firefighters were on the scene with smoke damage throughout the store.

The cost of the damages are estimated at $1.5 million with the store staying closed with no known date when it could reopen.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time with investigation underway between the fire department and Stratford Police.
