Stolen Vehicle from London strikes Cruiser in Flight from Police in Wellington County

Vehicle located in Maryhill but Accused, in efforts to evade tire deflation device, struck a marked cruiser.

The Wellington County OPP report that on March 18, 2022 a black pickup truck, reported stolen in London was travelling in Wellington County. Officers located the vehicle on St. Charles Street East in Maryhill and when police attempted to stop the vehicle the driver drove around a tire deflation device and struch a marked OPP cruiser. No one was injured.

As a result of the investigation a 22 year old male of Chatham has been charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, five counts of operating while prohibited, two counts of suspended driving, unlawful possession of an identification document and failing to comply with a probation order.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in a Guelph court.
