The Town of St Marys has named Phil West as the next Fire Chief and Director of Emergency Services.
West who took the role on Monday has been with the fire department since 1995 holding leadership positions at every level.
West became Fire Lieutenant in 2019, Fire Captain 2022, Deputy Fire Chief in 2024 and now taking on the role of Fire Chief.
In a release, the town says Chief West plans to focus on public education, risk reduction through fire inspections, continuous improvement in procedures and strengthening emergency preparedness to enhance the community’s safety.
