Speed cameras are going live in Hillsburgh on June 20th.
This will be the sixth ASE location to be implemented as part of Wellington County’s one year pilot programme to help reduce speeding and improve road safety in school and Community Safety Zones.
The camera will be placed at Wellington Road 24 between Church Street and Jane Street.
The Community Safety Zone in Hillsburgh was determined based on traffic data and safety reviews completed during the County’s Road Master Action Plan.
The County says this programme has already yielded results with average vehicle speeds at five active camera locations by 17 per cent with speed limit compliance increasing by 62 per cent.
