Ontario will now be requiring some workplaces to have naloxone kits on hand to prevent opioid overdoses.

This requirement was one part of a labour bill introduced by the government this week which would require the kits if a worker could be at risk for an overdose.

This would apply to construction sites, bars and nightclubs.

The province says around 2500 people have died in Ontario from opioid related causes between March 2020-January 2021 with 30 per cent of them being construction workers.
