The Special Investigations Unit has dropped an investigation into an alleged assault of man involving a Peel Regional Police officer which occurred in Stratford.
The SIU says the officer was a hotel in Stratford for a youth hockey tournament on November 5th who got into an argument with two other men which saw aggressive behavior leading to the officer striking one of the men in the face and once in the neck who then fell and broke his leg.
The officer says he acted after he felt like he was about to be stricken from the man.
The file was later closed and directed to Stratford Police for further investigation.
