As the United Way Perth-Huron annual campaign passes the 90 percent mark of their goal of $1,762,200 the Dietrich’s, a Shakespeare area farm family are helping organize a celebration and challenge other rural families by investing in their community as Leader Match donors.
These donors donate $6000 to inspire 5 other people to give at the Leadership level of $100 per month.
Jennifer Dietrich, mother of the family says they care about the community and want to help. They thought the idea of becoming Leader Match Donors was a great opportunity to support people where they live and motive others to give back to the United Way.
The United Way helps almost 50 partners and programs across Perth and Huron Counties delivering important human services and creating brighter futures for more local people.
This year in addition to working with existing programs they have also raised money for the United Way Urgent Needs Fund. It is responsible for helping over 665 people since it’s creation in May of 2020.
It supports local residents in a time of crisis with funds for essentials like rent, groceries and medication.
