Seaforth Driver Charged with Speeding & Making False Statement after Stop in West Perth

The officer was confirming ownership documents following the speeding traffic stop, which driver was unable to provide ownership for the trailer and had registered it as homemade.

Perth County OPP report that a recent traffic stop on Line 36 in West Perth for speeding has resulted in more than a ticket for a Seaforth resident.

On May 5th at 8:25pm an officer stopped a vehicle pulling a trailer with a boat after it was travelling more than 39 km over the posted limit.

The officer was confirming ownership documents for the vehicle and trailer, with the driver unable to provide ownership for the trailer.

The investigation revealed the driver had falsely registered it as homemade.

As a result a 61 year old of Seaforth has been charged with speeding, making a false statement and failing to submit a permit for the trailer.

The accused is scheduled to appear at a Stratford court to answer to the charges.
