Wallenstein’s Ryan and Romy Schill of Circle R Livestock LTD & Revolution Wool was among those selected as a National Winner from six regional farms at Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmer Program’s national event held in Toronto last week.
Ryan, a graduate of Lakeland College took over his grandfather’s mixed farm which raised pigs, beef and 1200 laying hens with Romy joining him in 2008.
They eventually decided to sell the pigs and beef with a focus on sheep then expanding the herd from 25 to 800 in 2018.
Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers President Amy Cronin said the event was a great success adding Ryan and Romy Schill emulate what their program stands for, excellence, continuous learning, progression, innovation and sustainability.
