Road work near Millbank to impact traffic on area road

Paving technique lowers life cost of road and lowers CO2 emissions in repaving

Road crews have started cold in-place asphalt recycling work on the north end of Perth Road 121 has begun.

Crews are working their way to Millbank where they will turn around and recycle the other lane.

The project is estimated to take 8 working days with weather permitting.

Cold-in-place is where a road is rehabilitated by taking existing paving materials, mill them, mix and re-use in place without heat being applied.

It reduces the life cost of the pavement by reusing the existing asphalt. It also uses less COS emissions.

Over 90% of Perth County roads have been recycled.
