Retired Groves Hospital staff member Lois Ballah has been playing the Rural Wellington Hospitals 50/50 Lottery draws since it launched last year, this year she was able to choose the lucky ticket and Lois along with her husband get to take home $3,190.00.

The Rural Wellington Hospital 50/50 Lottery was drawn last week. Lois’s winning ticket number read “K-9712534”. Lois could not believe she won when she received the “congratulations” email from the Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation.

The Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation shares “Lois thought it was a spam email and quickly called to confirm it was authentic”.

Lois is still deciding whether to use her earnings to renovate their family room or use it towards a vacation.

The mission of Grove Hospital Foundation is to raise and steward funds for Groves Memorial Community Hospital and to ensure the residents of Centre Wellington and surrounding area receive optimal health care.

Every ticket purchased with this lottery has helped to purchase and raise funds for equipment needed in the Hospitals.

The Hospital encourages all to stay tuned to find out the grand amount total raised from this campaign.
