After two years of virtual relays, the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life returned this past Saturday.
The Stratford Relay for Life was held at Stratford Intermediate School starting at 5:30pm. Listowel residents also took part, under their own branch of fundraising.
Around 130 participants and 20 teams were registered, raising more than $69,000 for the event.
Julia Wilkinson who helped spearhead the event says the team out of Listowel, led by Tyler Schaefer had already saw a smashing number prior to Saturday.
“They surpassed $16,000, just their team alone. Huge thank you to that team, led by Tyler Schaefer and these amazing students who come out to raise tons of money.” said Wilkinson.
Schaefer’s team “Our Chance” was the top team for fundraising for the event.
Participants took part from Stratford, St. Mary’s, Mitchell, Listowel, Goderich, Clinton, Seaforth, and other surrounding areas
