On March 14th at approximately 4:30 am a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Wellington Road 7 near Sideroad 10 in the Township of Centre Wellington.
The officer observed a vehicle travelling southbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h limit.
The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 135 km/h.
As a result an 18 year old male from Elora has been charged with racing a motor vehicle. The defendant is scheduled to appear in a Guelph Court on June 2nd.
Their vehicle and driver’s license was seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
