R.I.D.E. Check Stops Impaired Driver in West Perth

35 year old male of South Huron has been charged with impaired operation

 

A RIDE spot check removed another impaired driver from the roads of West Perth.

On February 12th just before midnight the Perth County OPP were conducting RIDE checks on Perth Line 20 and Perth Road 163 when a vehicle entered the program.

During the course of the stop, the investigating officer formed the opinion that the driver had consumed alchohol.

A Roadside Approved Screening Device test was conducted, which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and brought to a local police station for further testing, where two samples of breath were provided.

As a result a 35 year old male of South Huron has been charged with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

A 90 day driving suspension and 7 day vehicle impoundment was initiated. The accused was released as is scheduled to appear at an an Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.
