There has been some shocking numbers come out of a recent Province wide Road Safety campaign by the OPP.

They announced today that they laid 3300 charges last week in Ontario as officers joined North American Road Safety Partners for Operation Safe Driver.

The annual enforcement and education campaign focused on commercial and non-commercial drivers who failed to share the road safely and engaged in risky driving behaviors.

A total of just over 2900 were laid against non commercial drivers and the balance against commercial.

Speeding outnumbered all over offenses for non-commercial drivers making up just over 2000 charges.

Seatbelt non-compliance came in second at 151 and third at 71 was failure to obey traffic control.

Among commercial drivers speeding was the most common charge at 101.

Close behind at 95 was document non-compliance.
