Province to be Contemplating Increased Health Restrictions

Measures would be to combat Rapid Rise in Omicron Covid Cases

The Provincial Government met over the New Years holiday to discuss possible increasing health measures across Ontario in effort to preserve hospital capacity and keep schools open amid the spread of the Omicron variant.

Among the things being considered including the outright banning of indoor dining, lowering of dining limits per table to 5 from 10 currently, outdoor gathering limits and decreasing capacity at essential retailers to 50 percent and 25 percent for non-essential retail.

Gyms, personal care, banquet halls and weddings may also see limits imposed.
