The price of milk is expected to rise heading into the new year.
The Canadian Dairy Commission has recommended an 8.4% jump in milk prices which if approved will start February 1st 2022.
The commission says the price increase comes due to costs of feed, energy and fertilizer which has caused farmer’s profits to fall under the cost of production.
With the potential increase of milk, other dairy products such as butter, cheese and yogurt could see a rise of cost.
