Ontario Premier Doug Ford has written to hospital CEO’s and local medical officers of health in regards to input on implementing vaccine mandates for staff at hospitals.
Many hospitals have already introduced their own mandates to have hospital staff vaccinated or be subject to frequent testing.
In other hospitals, choosing to not be vaccinated has resulted in staff being placed on unpaid leave.
Ford’s letter says some have suggested a province-wide mandate is needed but adds its important to balance the risks of COVID-19 with any strain on staffing resources.
