On March 21st at around 3:09pm, Perth County OPP investigated an extortion incident.
It was determined a male met a female on an app on their phone and during conversation, the male sent an explicit photo to the female.
A demand of money was then made in order for the photograph not to be distributed to the victims friends and family.
While no money was sent, the photo was shared.
Police are warning residents to be aware of the dangers of engaging in online web chats and to remain vigil when engaging in any online chats.
