Huron County OPP are investigating a snowmobile crash late last night south of Hensall that has resulted in a fatality.
At approximately 11:19pm on Christmas Eve Huron County OPP and Paramedic Services responded to a farm property located on London Road south of Hensall after receiving a 911 call about the snowmobile crash.
Upon arrival first responders located and then performed life saving measures on the snowmobile operator. He was transported from the scene by ambulance to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Members of the West Region OPP TIME Team attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation.
The initial investigation has determined the deceased was operating a snowmobile in a field when he collided with a barn situated on the property.
Investigators believe alcohol and excessive speed were contributing factors in the crash.
The deceased has been identified as a 24 year old male from Lambton Shores.
A post-mortem examination will take place this weekend.
