Perth County OPP are on the search for an accused car thief after a car that was left running at a residence in Listowel was stolen yesterday morning.

Just before 9am on Monday, officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from a  driveway on Victoria Avenue North. It had been left unattended running.

The vehicle has been recovered in another OPP jurisdiction, however prior to it being located in a ditch, the driver failed to stop for police and fled.

The danger that stolen vehicles pose include possible impairment, weapons and more. Mix in bad weather, excessive speeds and disregard for others on the road and the risks increase.

Anyone with information about this incident are asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
