Local police forces are receiving provincial funding to support video surveillance programs.

Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae announced $400,000 will be given locally which Rae says will be used to help keep our rural communities safe.

Stratford Police and West Perth OPP will see $200,000 in the surveillance programs.

The program can be used to replaced outdated equipment, expand or enhance current technology and install new or more CCTV cameras in areas where gun and gang violence, illegal drug activity and human trafficking are prevalent.
