Perth South residents have the chance to purchase a tree from the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority to help the township increase their tree count by planting native species of trees in their own yard.
This comes after the success of Stratford’s Tree Power program which launched this year.
Perth South council opted to have $2000 in this years budget set aside the cost of trees for residents.
The cost of a tree is between $20-$25 around 1.5 meters tall. Around 60 per cent of 300 trees have been purchased.
To order your tree visit PerthSouthTreePower.ca. Due to limited supply, residents are allowed one tree per household.
