Perth County Council received their February update on the PC Connect Transit system offering mass transportation to Perth County residents who pre-book a trip.
The service has had utilization of 248 rides from November 16th, 2020 until the date of the reports preparation. One of the causes for the current take-up of the service is the restrained growth due to paid marketing being suspended.
PC Connect is operating at 50% reduced capacity due to Covid-19 safety protocols.
After the Province mandated shutdown and decline in January the service saw a 62% in ridership in February. 86 riders were services with 73 on Route A (Stratford, Gadshill, Brunner, Milverton, Newton, Millbank, Listowel, Atwood, Monkton and Mitchell) and 13 on Route B (Stratford, St. Pauls, St. Marys, Kirkton, Mitchell, Sebringville, Stratford).
The PC Connect Service has collected $44443 in fare revenue with $1056 being sold at the 50% off discount until the end of March.
The service is currently being operated at a forecasted cost of $630,537 for the year April 1st 2021 to March 31st, 2022. This cost is projected to be offset by the Provincial Community Transportation Grant amount of $572,259 and projected fare income of $58,278.
Perth County Council is working with Voyago, the PC Connect Operator, to add stops at all Covid-19 vaccination centers throughout Perth County.
This would enable those without transportation to travel to and from vaccinations appointments.
