A few break and enters have occurred in Perth County over the last few weeks and the Perth County OPP want to ensure residents are aware of strategies to prevent these crimes and methods to report them if they do.

Last week there were 3 break ins reported including 2 last Monday including the breaking into a backyard shed and the theft of a ice auger worth $700. During the otherĀ  b&e a shed was broken into in the daylight and an assortment of power tools were stolen at a value of over 2 thousand dollars.

The OPP would like to remind people to report any suspicious activity immediately. They also ask that you consider security features such as lighting, cameras and alarms.

Ensure all vehicles, sheds, garages and doors are locked to prevent these crimes from happening.

Reports can be submitted online, regardless of value, where they are no suspects or evidence at the scene. Just visit opp.ca/reporting to see a complete list of eligible occurrences and chose their location to begin the report.
